What would happen if . . .

What would happen if you aimed a 10Hz FM transmitter right at somebody's head? What about an AM transmitter? Aren't the radios in cell phones supposed to be what causes brain tumors? Has that ever been proven? (My mom never used a cell phone, but I think the cordless phone was glues to her head often.) What if you took normal audio, but delayed the right channel by 1/6th of a second and had people listen via headphones? (166.7 ms would be very audible, huh?) What if you send an audio channel to the video in of a TV (AM modulated by a square wave LFO, of course)? What if I never write the stupid outline I ought to write for my thesis?

who owns ideas?

posting a bunch of comments since I'm normally in livejournal land and don't get over here to blogger land much.

186,000 miles per second/10 cycles per second = wavelength of 18,600 miles. so you'd probably want to modulate some carrier with a 10hz signal instead of use an unomdulated 10hz carrier to zap into people's brains (or just use DC) like how you amplitude modulate a very high frequency visible light signal to make the pulses for a dream machine. there are various direct electrical stimulating brain boxes available made by various weirdos. some people swear they do amazing things, others swear they are crap, much like dreammachines.

completely unsubstantiated rumour about the first cellphone conversation at motorola that was told to my brother by various people who worked there:

engineer 1: "ok, can you hear me?"
engineer 2: " yeah! loud and clear! this cellphone thing is the greatest invention ever!"
engineer 1: "umm, so....is your head getting warm?"
engineer 2: "umm, no....why would you ask?"
engineer 1: "No reason!! uh gotta go, bye! *click*"
